9 tips to be more productive at home (part I)

Due to the unusual situation at the moment, most of us have to work entirely from home. Of course, working from home comes with its advantages, one of which is that we don't waste time commuting. On the other hand, however, for many of us, it is still difficult to organize our time and tasks in such a way as to be as productive as possible, while everything happens only and only within the confines of our home - the place that we usually associate with family, rest and all kinds of activities of our personal life where work is not present or at least not actively.

At first glance, organizing your day well requires a lot of self-discipline, given everything that can distract us constantly, but in fact, if we adopt a few simple but effective habits, we will feel for ourselves how much more productive we are and how well it makes us feel. we feel that.

1. Build a morning routine similar to the one you start your normal work day with

Of course, working from home affords the luxury of not drinking our coffee on foot while getting dressed, making breakfast, and a bunch of other things with the thought of getting out as quickly as possible to avoid traffic. But even when we don't have to go out, it's important not to waste time and get set for work. That's why every day is good to wake up at the same time and to set aside a certain time for coffee and breakfast, for example.

It is also important not to sit all day in pajamas. We would be significantly more productive if we put on the clothes we normally go out in. We don't need to dress formally and completely the way we would go to the office, but rather comfortably and according to our personal preferences, but still the clothing contributes to the overall atmosphere, that is, it should suit our occupation.

2. Don't get distracted by household chores

When we're at work, it's easy to forget about all the household chores that need to be done. But when we work from home it is different – they are in front of our eyes constantly. We should not be distracted by them because it interferes with our work process. That's why it's good to set aside a certain amount of time during the day for these tasks - either in the morning before starting work, or in the evening before going to bed. The important thing is while we work, not to look at the sink full of dirty dishes and all the while feeling like we have something to do.

And last but not least, this affects our working environment - if it is dirty or messy around us, we will not feel as comfortable and this will affect our concentration and productivity.

3. Choose the right place for you to work

Yes, it may sound tempting to do work while we spend the whole day in our comfortable bed, especially when it's dark or cold outside, but it doesn't really help us to concentrate and get our tasks done.

One of the benefits of working from home is that we can vary our work space and we should, but it's okay to stick to a place designated primarily for work, where we feel nice and cozy, we can sit comfortably and there is good light.

4. Make a schedule and to-do list for each day and stick to it `

Despite the fact that we can schedule our own time entirely and physical meetings are eliminated, our work and tasks are still there waiting to be done. If we don't have a plan for the day and a "to-do" list, we will always do everything chaotically and without structure, which hides the risk of not utilizing our time and forgetting about some things that were actually important. Also, if we allocate our time in advance, we can be so productive that at the end of the day to have accomplished everything, but in fact to have worked far less than the standard 8-hour workday.

That was the first batch of advice from us. Expect the rest in the coming days, and in the meantime reserve your TEMPORARY HOME at: https://flataway.eu/
