13. Luxury Motels – Motels get an upgrade
In the past, motels offered basic conditions anywhere in the world. However, competition has recently pushed owners to look for an edge. If you know a motel is upscale, you're much more likely to pay a little more per night to get a good night's sleep. A very popular motel chain in Texas is the Bunkhouse. The furnishings are colorful and modern, and one of them has a pool.
14. Glamping – glamorous camping
The popular glamping movement combines the words glamourous and camping. This is a luxury camping site. There are already such accommodations in Europe, Asia, North and South America.
15. Modern architecture among authentic buildings - a hotel next to a monastery in the Netherlands
In Western Europe, people love the contrast between the modern and the authentic in architecture. In this way, the modern building stands out even more and attracts attention. An example of this is hotel Mariënhage in Eindhoven.
Fitness and wellness hotels
16. Fitness equipment in the room
Guests increasingly prefer to have the opportunity to exercise, even in their room. One of the popular video training fitness equipment companies is called Peloton. In addition to offering fitness equipment for the home, they already have contracts with major hotel chains. Other companies, such as Apple with its Fitness program, are also entering this area.
17. Spa hostel
Apparently there is a demand for Spa conditions, even among hostel guests. There is already such a hostel – The Green Elephant Hostelin Maastricht. In addition to the Spa, this hostel also offers massages. The concept offers luxurious conditions to an affordable type of accommodation.
18. Take your pet on vacation
More and more hotels are allowing guests to take their pet with them during their trip. So travelers don't have to look for someone to take care of them. The guest must pay a token deposit in case of an accident. After the stay, there is a short damage inspection and if everything is in order, the deposit is refunded.
19. Experiences instead of acquisitions – surf camps
An example of building such a surf camp comes from our compatriot Kaloyan Georgiev, who will achieve this in Zanzibar. The water there is crystal clear and the locals are hospitable and friendly. Here it is reference to an article about him.
20. Bleisure – Business travelers extend their stay by a few days for pleasure
Have you ever traveled abroad for a business trip and wanted to stay a few days afterwards to explore the city at your leisure instead of just an evening after work? More and more companies offer this opportunity to their employees as an additional benefit. Thus, a new term appeared - Bleisure: a mixture of the words Business and Leisure. Probably, after some time, this word will appear on the forms at the airports 🙂
21. Musical events in hotel lobbies – exclusive concert or DJ set
Competition among hotels leads to innovative ideas. One of them is signing a participation contract with a local artist, band or DJ. A kind of concert is performed for an exclusive audience - the hotel's visitors. In this way, the consumption of the bar increases and also the reputation of the hotel increases.
